City office in rainbow colors to mark Pride Week Heerlen

To bring extra attention to Pride Week in our city (September 1-7, 2024) and express our support for LGBTQA+, the rainbow flag will fly on the roof of City Hall. Heerlen municipality will also have the city office illuminated in rainbow colors from Monday evening, September 2, until Monday, September 8. After sunset, the building can be admired in rainbow colors.

Numerous activities are held during Pride week. Saturday is the highlight of Pride Week, the Pride Walk. Mayor Roel Wever and Alderman Arlette Vrusch (Inclusion) will walk with the Pride Walk. A group of public officials is also participating. The start is at the Burgemeester van Grunsvenplein, at 1 p.m. If you would like to walk along, for more info on how to register, check out the Queer Parkstad website.
