Maarten Bel - Greetings from Heerlen-Noord: Chapter 1.
ArtDate: to
Location: SCHUNCK Glass Palace

Artist Maarten Bel is temporarily taking over the SCHUNCK display case with his project Greetings from Heerlen-Noord: Chapter 1. The presentation is inspired by the camping weekend during the Buurtcamping in Heerlen-Noord last summer.
Photos, memories, and giant postcards show encounters, creative experiments, and playful moments from that weekend: from marshmallow sticks with names to a failed pancake tower and Maarten's brief role as bingo master. Despite the wet weather, the atmosphere remained cheerful and surprising.
The project is part of ArtBase, the Mondriaan Fund's pilot program in which SCHUNCK is investigating how the collection can also function outside the museum.
Maarten Bel (1987, Dordrecht) creates art from everyday objects, often with a healthy dose of humor. He invites people to actively participate, making art not only something to look at, but also something to experience. You may know him from the VPRO program De Cadeaufabriek (The Gift Factory).
