Heerlen is committed to safe neighborhoods. We’re making sure there’s a clear and visible increase in police presence on the streets. That’s why every neighborhood has its own community police officer and BOA (Special Investigative Officer). They are your point of contact.

• The community police officer is responsible for maintaining public order and safety in the neighborhood. 
• The BOA from the enforcement agency focuses primarily on issues that undermine the quality of life due to violations or nuisances, such as improper disposal of household waste, illegally dumped trash, or illegally parked cars.
