Facade improvement grant

Together we make Hoensbroek-Centrum a place to meet, do business and store. The quality of the public space is very important. The municipality therefore gives subsidies to owners to renovate their properties.

Are you a property owner in the center of Hoensbroek and want to beautify your facade? Email us for an application form and apply before the end of 2027.

Approach

Could your facade use an overhaul? If so, email for an application form. Complete the form and send it with attachments to hoensbroekcentrum@heerlen.nl.
Do you have questions about the application? We are happy to help you prepare.

Description

Property owners on Gebrookerplein, Hoofdstraat (from Markt to Gebrookerplein), Nieuwstraat (between Gebrookerplein and Marktstraat) or Marktstraat can apply for the subsidy. Tackling, improving and restoring facades makes a valuable contribution to improving the appearance of Hoensbroek-Centrum. With the new scheme, property owners can apply for a subsidy to tackle their outdated, ugly or dull facade.

Covered are:

  • restoring facades with cultural-historical and/or image-defining value to their original state
  • removal of image disrupting/disfiguring objects and components on facades
  • restoring facade ensembles.
  • You may also be able to get a grant to repair more facades that together form a single unit and enhance the streetscape.

Requirements

Requirements for facades in Hoensbroek-Centrum for grant funding are:

  • Restore buildings/facades with cultural-historical and/or iconic value to their original condition.
  • Restore architecture by putting properties back "feet on the ground"; aligning and connecting the first floor with the rest of the facade.
  • Restore facade ensembles.
  • Removal of image disturbing/disfiguring objects and parts on facades
  • Restoring facades to their former state through repair work
  • Restoration contributes to more/better or appropriate use of the entire property again, for example, because it is now (partially) vacant.

Term

The grant scheme runs until Dec. 31, 2027, or until the grant amount of €200,000 is exhausted.
