Facade improvement subsidy

Together, we are turning Hoensbroek-Centrum into a place to meet, do business, and shop. The quality of public spaces is very important. That is why the municipality is providing subsidies to owners to renovate their properties.

Description

Property owners on Gebrookerplein, Hoofdstraat (from Markt to Gebrookerplein), Nieuwstraat (between Gebrookerplein and Marktstraat), or Markt can apply for the subsidy. Tackling, improving, and repairing facades makes a valuable contribution to improving the appearance of Hoensbroek-Centrum. With the new scheme, property owners can apply for a subsidy to tackle their outdated, ugly, or boring facades. 

The scheme covers:

  • restoring facades with cultural-historical and/or iconic value to their original condition
  • removing objects and parts on facades that disrupt or detract from the appearance 
  • restoring facade ensembles.
  • You may also be eligible for a subsidy for restoring multiple facades that form a single entity and enhance the streetscape.

Requirements

The Requirements facades in Hoensbroek-Centrum to be eligible for subsidy are: 

  • Restore buildings/facades with cultural-historical and/or iconic value to their original condition.
  • Restoring the architecture by putting buildings back "on solid ground"; aligning and connecting the ground floor with the rest of the facade.
  • Restoring facade ensembles. 
  • Removal of objects and parts on facades that disrupt or detract from the appearance
  • Restoring facades to their original condition through repair work
  • The restoration contributes to the increased/improved or renewed appropriate use of the entire building, for example because it is currently (partly) vacant.

Term

The subsidy scheme will run until December 31, 2027, or until the subsidy amount of €200,000 has been exhausted.
