House of Representatives elections 2025

House of Representatives elections 2025

Voting is about more than coloring a box red. Your vote determines your future. Political parties decide on your daily life, for example employment, opening hours of stores and cafes, redevelopment of neighborhoods and new construction projects or education. So use your right to vote Oct. 29 and vote for the party that suits you best!

Voting aids

Who will you vote for? To make that choice easier, there are voting aids. A voting aid shows which issues are important in the elections and what the political parties think about them. For the House of Representatives, this is the Electoral Compass. The voting aid is usually ready a few weeks before the elections.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why do I have a different polling place than last time?

Your polling card shows the address of the polling station that is close to your home address. This may be a different polling station than the one you used last time because the municipality uses a new system to calculate locations. You are not required to go to this particular polling place. You may also go to your familiar polling place or another polling place in Heerlen.

On the websites whereismijnstemlokaal or verkiezinginbeeld you will find an overview of the polling stations in the municipality of Heerlen a few weeks before the elections. It also states which polling stations are accessible for people with reduced mobility or disabilities.

How can I stand for election or my political party?

To participate in elections, a party or group and its candidates must comply with rules. And during elections, they compete for the public's trust. That process, too, is governed by clear rules. From registration to campaigning.
