Reporting holidays or changes to Social assistance benefit SMF)

  • Do you receive benefits from the municipality? Then you may go abroad for 28 days each year without losing your benefit. Your stay abroad may not interfere with your education or reintegration program. If you go abroad, you must inform the municipality in time.
  • Does something change in your situation that could affect your benefits? If so, you must report this to the municipality. Do this before the 7th day after the month of the change.

Approach

This is how you report a vacation or change if you have benefits:

  • fill out the online change form
  • log in with your DigiD
  • Health that you have the documents on hand to upload

If you are going abroad, you must always notify the municipality one month in advance.

Is something changing in your life? Let us know right away. That way, we can work together to ensure you receive exactly the right amount of benefits. And you’ll avoid having to pay back money or face a penalty later on.

Please let us know if there are any changes to:

  • Work and Income. You’re starting or stopping work, working more or less, your income is changing, or you’re starting an internship, volunteer work, or odd jobs. Always report any income you earn from abroad as well.
  • Housing. You're moving, someone is moving in with you, or a roommate is moving out.
  • Money and possessions. You receive extra money, savings, an inheritance, or, for example, a car. Or someone pays for your groceries or insurance.
  • Vacation or stay. Are you going on vacation, staying at someone else’s home for an extended period, or is someone staying at your home?

Requirements

The Requirements for vacation with a Social assistance benefit are:

  • You may be away from home for a maximum of 4 weeks per year.
  • You will not be authorized to take a vacation abroad while pursuing an education.
  • You may choose when to take the 4 weeks.
  • You may also take less than 4 weeks vacation several times a year, for example, 2 times 2 weeks vacation.
  • You may not carry the weeks you did not pick up in a year into next year.
  • You may not travel abroad for more than 4 consecutive weeks. This includes, for example, 3 weeks in December and 2 weeks in January.
