Birth registration
Have you had a baby? Congratulations! You must register the birth no later than the third working day after the day of birth. You must register the birth with the municipality in which the child was born.
Approach
For digital birth declaration: complete the form (together with your partner, when applicable). Confirm the digital birth declaration yourself (single) or by your partner. You will receive one confirmation email with a link. Click on this link and log in with your Digid (single person) or his/her DigiD (partner). Please allow for a delay between logging out and logging in again. Wait 15 minutes before you or your partner log in to DigiD, via the confirmation email! You register the birth with the municipality in which the child was born. You may inscribe your child in the marriage book yourself.
If your child is stillborn, you cannot register the birth digitally. You must register the birth at the civil registry office of the municipality where your child was born. The municipality will issue you with a birth certificate (stillborn). First, make an appointment with the civil registry office. For more information, see: registering a stillborn child. We wish you strength in coping with this loss.
Would you like a stamp in your marriage certificate?
Then make an appointment with the civil registry office.

Do the parents live with the child in the Netherlands? Register their residence and address in your municipality of residence. Do the parents live with the child abroad and do you need to arrange matters with a Dutch government agency? Have a list of persons created for the child. Make an appointment at an RNI desk.
