Lecture

Date:

Time:   -

Location: De Vondst (Raadhuisplein 20, Heerlen).

Step into the past and experience the extraordinary archaeological discoveries of Roman Heerlen!

On June 14, we open the gates to the past during National Archaeology Days. This year, the spectacular excavations at the Council House Square are the focus of attention. Unique finds have been made here, such as the grave of the Roman soldier Flaccus, a second grave, a bronze furnace and the foundations of a Roman building.

Would you like to learn more about life in Coriovallum, the Roman city that Heerlen once was? Then come to De Vondst on Saturday, June 14, and listen to archaeologists present their research findings. Thanks to the latest techniques, we are gaining more and more insight into living and eating habits, daily life and customs of the inhabitants of Heerlen 2,000 years ago.
