Subsurface basic registration

Do you use soil and subsurface data? The Base Registry of the Subsurface (BRO) contains data on and models of the subsurface of the Netherlands. You can access the data via the website Basisregistratie Ondergrond.

Description

If you use soil and subsurface data, you can access the Basisregistratie ondergrond (BRO) for free. The BRO contains basic information about the Dutch subsurface. It contains data on:

  • the geological and soil structure of the subsurface
  • the use rights to the subsoil

With this information, you will know better what your opportunities and risks are when using the subsoil. For example, if you want to install a ground source heat system, you want to know in advance the composition of the subsurface.

The municipality is required to keep subsurface data current.
