At our kitchen table in Heerlen

Elders visit the Dutch Mining Museum Heerlen-Centrum with some youngsters. Here they see the different facets of Heerlen's colorful mining past: the black stories, golden times, gray sides and colorful perspectives of the region. The museum tells the history of mining and society in South Limburg in the 1940s, '50s and '60s. For the elderly, it is a feast of recognition. How wonderful it is that they can share their stories of the past with young people and peers. After the museum visit, creative workshops take place at three Sevagram locations, where everyone creates their own artwork inspired by what they have seen and heard in the Dutch Mining Museum.
