Seize this opportunity to make Heerlen even greener, more fun, more welcoming, safer, cleaner, and more beautiful. Want to create a garden in the park, build a facade garden, or set up an outdoor fitness area or vegetable garden? Build a bocce court? Organize a neighborhood party or walk? Keep a flower bed clean? Join a cleanup campaign? Great! All ideas are welcome. The municipality provides grants, support, or materials. Submit your idea and we’ll contact you. Have you already submitted an application? Would you like to submit an idea? Send us a brief email describing your idea and the neighborhood where you’d like to implement it. Please include your phone number. We’ll contact you as soon as possible to discuss your request and explore the options together.

Description

Perhaps you have a different idea for your neighborhood than the municipality. Or maybe you have come up with just the thing to make your neighborhood better, different, more pleasant, more fun, more beautiful, or safer. We would be happy to work with you to see what is possible. This is 'Together in the neighborhood of Heerlen'.

Social activities and initiatives in public spaces

The municipality provides the foundation. The residents take care of the implementation and management. We have already implemented many ideas, both large and small. They bring new energy to the neighborhood and connect the people who live there. Together, we are working to create a wonderful neighborhood or street.

Cleaning campaigns

It's nice when there's no litter to be seen in the neighborhood. Would you like to help us by rolling up your sleeves, either alone or together with other neighbors? Or would your children like to help and collect stickers that they can spend later? If you participate, we will provide you with trash bags, a litter picker, and a vest. We will collect the collected trash from you. You can sign up for the campaigns:

Help in your neighborhood as a friend of Heerlen (for everyone aged 13 and older)
organize a one-time cleaning campaign
adopt a trash can
