Low income and high energy bills? The Emergency Energy Fund helps.
Vulnerable households with high energy bills can again apply for financial assistance, as they did last year. New this year is that households with a so-called block connection are also eligible for assistance from the fund. With block connections, multiple homes are supplied with heat, electricity and/or gas through a joint connection. Applications can be made starting April 22, 2025.
Who can make an application?
Households that:
- Have an income of up to 200% of the social minimum (gross less than €3,400 per month for singles or €4,740 for cohabitants, including 8% vacation allowance)
- AND energy costs higher than 8 to 10 percent of gross monthly income
Important: prepare your application well
Many applications are expected to come in. Therefore, it is important to be well prepared:
- Health that everyone in the household aged 18 or older has a working DigiD with SMS verification
- Collect all recent utility bills
