Exhibition (Un)Seen

Exposition

Date:   to

Location: New Gallery

A passion project by Laura Rook-Molin.
With over 20 years of experience in mental health and youth care and from her own life experiences, Laura Rook-Molin has brought the exhibition (On)Gezien to life. A powerful, moving initiative that touches on the core of being human.

What if we all shared one desire?

On the outside, we seem different. Especially people struggling with mental or emotional challenges. But behind all those differences lies a shared desire: to be seen by others, and perhaps even more so: by ourselves.

(Un)Seen shows a wide range of stories and art forms: from photography to paintings, from texts to sculptures in which people literally offer themselves as art objects. Each work is a face. Each voice deserves attention.

Themes covered are intense and vulnerable: suicidality, sexual abuse, burnout, informal care, autism, anxiety disorders, homelessness, children in residential care, eating disorders and more. Not to shock but to connect, acknowledge and create space for conversation.

This exhibition is a unique collaboration between individuals and organizations from the youth and mental health fields, including:

Via Jeugd, Xonar, Mondriaan, Axiehuis and others brought together by Laura Rook-Molin.

Together, they demonstrate the power of connection between Health, art and society.

(Un)seen invites you to really look. At the other. At yourself. To that which often remains invisible.
