Municipality of Heerlen signs covenant with Limburg Sexual Violence Center
On Thursday, December 18, the municipality of Heerlen signed a new cooperation agreement for the Limburg Sexual Violence Center (CSG). With this agreement, all parties agree to continue to work together to provide effective and rapid assistance to victims of (online) sexual violence.

What does this mean for the residents of Heerlen?
Residents of Heerlen who are victims of sexual violence can count on professional help, in one place and in a safe environment. At the CSG Limburg, doctors, nurses, social workers, and the police work together. Victims receive medical, psychological, and practical support there. This can be shortly after a traumatic experience, but also later. The help is free of charge, and victims decide for themselves what steps to take.
Stronger cooperation
In addition to the municipalities of Limburg, the Municipal Health Services (GGD), Maastricht UMC+, the police, XONAR, and Veilig Thuis are also participating. New additions include the National Center for Sexual Violence, LOEF, and Perspectief Herstelbemiddeling.
Alderman Arlette Vrusch: "Sexual violence affects people deeply. That is precisely why it is so important that municipalities, Health Safety work together on this issue. Today, we are emphasizing our shared responsibility. As Alderman , I Alderman it Alderman important that we provide the right help more quickly, are easily accessible, and offer shelter to victims where necessary.
