Description

Residents, companies or institutions can use municipal land. If you want to organize something on municipal land, you need permission from the municipality. If you receive permission, you may use the land under certain Requirements . The municipality remains the owner of the land.

Requirements

Do you want to place objects along the side of the road or on the sidewalk? Always apply for a permit for temporary use of municipal land. Even if the sidewalk is private property, but has a public character.
You will not receive a permit for placing an object: 

  • in public greenery
  • on the roadway with a stop prohibition
  • On a playground, sandbox or playing field
  • in a handicapped parking space
  • near a fire hydrant (above or below ground)

Notice:

  • you must not damage the road surface
  • escape routes must remain clear
  • the passage for emergency services must be at least 3.50 meters wide
  • You should never place a container on the sidewalk

Are you going to place objects on municipal land for work that also requires another permit?
For example, an environmental permit to build or demolish? If so, you may not carry out the work until you have received all the permits.
Keep this in mind when planning the placement of, for example, containers, aerial platforms and so on.

Term

Apply for the permit at least 2 weeks in advance. We need this time to prepare your application.

The municipality will decide on your application within 8 weeks. Is that not possible? Then the municipality may extend this period 1 time.

Objections and appeals

Do you disagree with the municipality's decision? Then you can lodge an objection. This allows you to let the municipality know why you disagree with the decision. You must do this within six weeks. The municipality will then review your application and make a new decision.

If you still disagree with the municipality's decision, you can ask the court to review whether the municipality made the right decision. This is called 'appealing'.
