The municipality levies taxes on certain facilities. The most common are: property tax (OZB), dog tax, sewer levy and waste collection. The Belastingsamenwerking Gemeenten en Waterschappen (BsGW) in Roermond levies and collects municipal taxes for the municipality.

Description

Every day you use municipal facilities. The street, the sewer system, public lighting, garbage collection, you name it. All these facilities cost money. The municipality therefore levies a number of municipal taxes. The taxes vary from municipality to municipality. The municipality may only levy those taxes that are mentioned in the law.
