In October, the exhibition “How we can('t) exist” will be on view at De Nieuwe Galerij in Heerlen.
“How we can('t) exist” is a photo and video installation by actress Julia Akkermans in collaboration with photographer Liz van den Akker. 

In this installation, Akkermans reveals the invisible reality of burnout. The work invites the viewer to enter the psychological space of someone who lets their (exhausted) body speak. The media is increasingly discussing burnout and the culture of self-help. Yet the emotional and sensory dimensions remain underrepresented. With this work, Akkermans attempts to bridge that gap by making the invisible not only visible but also tangible.
