Houses and business premises get an address with a house number from the municipality. Often stand and berths also get an address. All addresses are recorded in the Basic Registration of Addresses and Buildings.

The municipality cannot just use or change house numbers. If your house number is incorrect, please report it to the municipality.

The municipality Heerlen has outsourced the implementation of the BAG to the BAG/GEO department of the data house in Landgraaf.

The requirements to request a change of an address or house number in the Addresses and Buildings Registry are:

• The municipality granted a building permit (environmental license).
• The municipality determined that a mistake had been made.
