Help for Young People with Financial Problems

Are you under 27 and in debt? Do you want more peace of mind and a clearer picture of your finances? The Youth Perspective Fund (JPF) helps young people ages 18 through 27 tackle their debt and get a fresh start.

Approach

  • Send us an email—even if you're not sure whether JPF can help you.
  • Together, we’ll discuss what we can do about your debts. We’ll also look at your situation at home, at school, at work, and your health.
  • Together, we'll create a plan that works for you.

Description

The JPF pays off your debts in a single payment using a special loan. This loan is called a debt consolidation loan. This gives you greater peace of mind and a clearer overview of your finances.

Together with a counselor, you’ll then work on your future. For example, we’ll look at:

  • your living situation
  • school or work
  • What other help do you need?

Do you have little or no income? If so, you can pay off your debt relief loan by completing a community service placement. The program lasts two years. After two years, you’ll be debt-free and will have taken steps toward building your future.

Requirements

  • You are between the ages of 18 and 27
  • You live in the municipality of Heerlen
  • You have debt and would like to get rid of it
  • You'd like to build a new future
