Keetje Mans: Ride the range...

Art

Date:   to

Location: SCHUNCK Glass Palace

Keetje Mans (1979, Amsterdam) presents an installation with new works in SCHUNCK's Atrium: Ride the Range (and Never Worry) in Your Humble Abode.

Mans' installation of painted set pieces, sculptures and drawings unfolds to the viewer as an intimate interior. The atmosphere is dim, something is brewing. It seems as if a veil has just been lifted, after which dreams, fears, memories are slowly revealed.

Mans' installation is also simultaneously an "inner world" in which she explores domestic rituals, surrealism in contemporary life and the intimacy of interior spaces. Foreground and background seem to blur and the everyday is intertwined with a magical reality. It is a world between dream and reality, between the repressed and the tangible. With her installation, Mans invites the audience to step into the setting of her inner world.
