Kids culture week in Heerlen

Monday, June 3 through Thursday, June 6, the kids culture week will take place for the students of groups 1 and 2 and 7 and 8 of all Heerlen elementary schools. During this kids' culture week, Heerlen pupils will get a free taste of the city's rich cultural offerings.

Art, culture and heritage education are incredibly important for the development of children into creative adults. The kids culture week is an initiative of the municipality Heerlen to introduce children to the cultural offerings in Heerlen, but especially to the rich history of the city. The Thermenmuseum, PLT, Tinkers Guild, Filmhuis de Spiegel and SCHUNCK cooperate in this project.

Fourth Edition

After 3 successful editions, the participating cultural partners in Heerlen have once again joined forces to put together an inspiring cultural program for the students. This year it is the turn of groups 1 and 2 and 7 and 8.

Entertainment for every child

The children of group 1 and 2 entertain themselves with a workshop and a performance in Theater Heerlen. In addition, they will receive a workshop provided by Kasteel Hoensbroek while groups 7 and 8 will discover their dance moves during a Dance Workshop. They will also learn how to build their own robot, visit Filmhuis de Spiegel and be updated on the latest fashion trends by the Fashionistas of Coriovallum. The day ends in Theater Heerlen with a joint visit to the performance "Children of the Lost Forest.

Alderman Jordy Clemens: ''We are extremely pleased that after the success of previous years we can again organize a kids culture week for enthusiastic students in Heerlen. We want every child to be introduced to all the beauty our city has to offer.''
