Launch of the Mining Damage website: starting point for recognition and recovery
Ten Limburg mining municipalities, the Province of Limburg, and the Ministry of Climate and Green Growth (KGG) are kicking off a new phase in tackling mining damage in Limburg. The focus is on repairing mining damage to people's homes in South Limburg.
The first step is the launch of the website www.i3ml.nl. The site belongs to the Institute for Environment, People and Mining Limburg (l3ML), which will open its doors in December 2025. Heerlen will have a physical counter where residents can go with questions or to report damage.
In a joint letter, the mining municipalities, the Province of Limburg, and the Ministry of KGG inform their municipal councils, Provincial Councils, and the House of Representatives about the steps that have been taken in recent months and the final steps that still need to be taken.
