Heerlen has many markets: traditional weekly markets such as commodity markets, food and vegetable markets. 

Do you want a booth at the market? Then you need a permit. You apply for the permit at the municipality.

Approach

This is how you apply for a permit for a market stand:

  • You contact the municipality.
  • You provide, among other things:
    • A recent certificate of registration with the Chamber of Commerce (Trade Register)
    • your valid proof of identity
    • Whether you want a one-time or permanent pitch
    • what you will sell

Heerlerheide

  • a fixed pitch in Heerlerheide costs per market day for each meter of front with a depth between two and four meters: € 2.51 
  • a day place in Heerlerheide costs per market day for each meter of front with a depth between two and four meters: € 3.01 

Hoensbroek

  • a fixed pitch in Hoensbroek costs per market day for each meter of front with a depth between two and four meters: € 2.51 
  • a day place in Hoensbroek costs per market day for each meter of front with a depth between two and four meters: € 3.01 

Heerlen Center

  • a permanent stand in Heerlen Center costs per market day for each meter of front with a depth between two and four meters: € 3.01
  • a day place in Heerlen Center costs per market day for each meter of front with a depth between two and four meters: € 3.47
  • a permanent stand in Heerlen Centrum costs per market day for each meter of front with a depth of more than two meters and a maximum of four meters with a minimum of four meters of front: € 3.83

  • A day spot in Heerlerheide costs €3.08 per market day for every meter of frontage with a depth between two and four meters. 

Hoensbroek

  • A permanent spot in Hoensbroek costs €2.58 per market day for each meter of frontage with a depth between two and four meters. 
  • A daily spot in Hoensbroek costs €3.08 per market day for every meter of frontage with a depth between two and four meters. 

Heerlen Center

  • A permanent spot in Heerlen Center costs €3.08 per market day for each meter of frontage with a depth between two and four meters.
  • A day spot in Heerlen Center costs €3.56 per market day for every meter of frontage with a depth between two and four meters.
  • A permanent spot in Heerlen Center costs per market day for every meter of frontage with a depth of more than two meters and a maximum of four meters, with a minimum of four meters of frontage: €3.93.

Description

If you want to have a one-time or permanent stand at the market, you need a permit. The municipality checks if there is space available and if you qualify for the permit. You may be put on a waiting list.

The Weekly Markets In Heerlen:

Center Heerlen on the Bongerd/Promenade:

  • commodity market on Tuesdays from 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m.
  • food and flower market: Thursday from 8 a.m. - 2 p.m. (Bongerd only)
  • goods market on Saturday from 9 a.m.-5 p.m.

Hoensbroek on the Marketplace:

  • Friday from 8 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

We will move the market to Market Street and Rietra Street on the Friday before the fair.

Heerlerheide at Wannerplein and Wannerstraat:

  • Friday from 1 p.m.-5 p.m.

Term

The municipality will make a decision within eight weeks of receiving your application. The municipality may extend this period once.

Objections and appeals

You can object to the decision on your application. Do this within 6 weeks. If you disagree with the decision on the objection, you can lodge an appeal with the court.
