Master Plan Space for Housing
The council is going out into neighborhoods this month and next to ask residents where they see opportunities for housing development. We have also opened an email address for ideas. At woningbouw@heerlen.nl, people can submit suggestions for possible development sites in their neighborhoods directly. We have already received dozens of responses.
The meetings are in the four different city districts on different days from 7 to 9 p.m.
- Hoensbroek, Kasteellaan 90, the Koffiepot on Monday, Feb. 24
- Heerlen city, Putgraaf 3, the Two Sisters on Tuesday, Feb. 25
- Heerlerbaan, Parc Imstenrade 66, Brasserie La Valeur on Monday, March 10
- Heerlerheide, Groeët Genhei 14, Cornelius House on Tuesday, March 11
More housing development
The Map of new housing sites is necessary in order to make real progress in realizing housing in the coming years. Every free piece of land is looked at to see if it is suitable for housing. The ideas of residents are important for this. They know if there is a place in their neighborhood, close to amenities and possibly suitable for housing.
Clear Map
Alderman Marco Peters of Spatial Planning:
"The Master Plan will be a clear Map with locations where we see opportunities for housing development. That way we give market parties and corporations clarity at the front, so they can build where there is a need. For example, housing for seniors and starters".
