Ode to Pinkpop from Sept. 19 to Jan. 21

With never-before-seen images from the rich Pinkpop archives, dive into the soul of the festival. Over 100 photographs and a number of videos provide a colorful glimpse into the kitchen of this festival. Some important pop photographers, including William Rutten, Paul Bergen and Marcel van Hoorn, also highlight their favorite Pinkpop moment.

Each photo exudes the atmosphere of connection, freedom and unforgettable musical moments. Ode to Pinkpop is a tribute to a festival that sparks conversations every year. About the lineup, the weather, the traffic, but most of all about the music and the magic. An ode to the sound that enters living rooms through open garden doors, to the traffic jams when picking up friends, and to the endless stories that are told over and over again.

A special feature of this production is the collaboration with the VISTA college Heerlen. Students from various courses are involved in the realization of this project. For example, new photo and video material by them will be shown in the exhibition and some additional program elements around the exhibition will also be organized by them. This will also give the building a temporary new use.

The exhibition will be on display starting Sept. 19 at a special pop-up location at Promenade 39, in downtown Heerlen. From Wednesday to Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Schools and group visits by appointment: info@fotomuseumaanhetvrijthof.nl
