Ode to Pinkpop from Sept. 19 to Jan. 31

Fotomuseum aan het Vrijthof presents the exhibition "Ode to Pinkpop" from September 19, 2025 to January 31, 2026. With never-before-seen images from the rich Pinkpop archive, you will dive into the soul of the festival. Over 100 photographs and several videos provide a colorful glimpse into the kitchen of this festival. In addition, several important pop photographers, including William Rutten, Paul Bergen and Marcel van Hoorn, highlight their favorite Pinkpop moment.

Each photo exudes the atmosphere of connection, freedom and unforgettable musical moments. Ode to Pinkpop is a tribute to a festival that sparks conversations every year: about the lineup, the weather, the traffic - but mostly about the music and the magic. An ode to the sound that enters living rooms through open garden doors, to the traffic jams when picking up friends, and to the endless stories that are told over and over again.

A special feature of this production is the collaboration with the VISTA college Heerlen. Students from various courses are involved in the realization of this project. New photo and video material by them will be shown in the exhibition and some additional program parts around the exhibition will be organized by them. We are also giving the building a temporary new purpose in this way.

The exhibition can be viewed starting Sept. 19 at a special pop-up location at Promenade 39, in downtown Heerlen. Wednesday through Sunday from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Schools and group visits by appointment: info@fotomuseumaanhetvrijthof.nl
