Research on development of care home in Heerlen
Woonpunt and the municipality of Heerlen want to build a care home on the vacant lot on Kasteellaan in Meezenbroek. They signed a letter of intent to that end on Sept. 26. We will first investigate whether the construction of such a care community center is feasible.

A healthcare neighborhood home is a building with regular apartments as well as apartments for residents who need Health . In this way older people or people who need Health can continue to live in the neighborhood. Think for example of people with an indication for the Wmo or Wlz. The building will also have communal areas, such as a living room and kitchen. All residents of the building can go there for socializing and a chat. Local residents are also welcome. The idea is that there will be 24 rental apartments in the building, spread over no more than three floors.
Parties involved
The feasibility of building such a care neighborhood home will first be investigated. Four parties will investigate: Woonpunt (landlord of the homes), the municipality of Heerlen (executor Woonvisie Heerlen), MeanderGroep (provider of the Health) and Holikiday (project developer). On Sept. 26, Woonpunt and the municipality of Heerlen signed a letter of intent to this end.
Planning
If the study shows that construction is feasible, the care home would be completed in 2027.
