New Herle College Design Complete

SVO|PL and the municipality of Heerlen have finalized the design for the new Herle College. We now know what the new school building will look like. The building will be located in Stadspark Oranje-Nassau in Heerlen.

The new building is designed for approximately 700 VMBO students. The programs offered are:

  • Hospitality, Bakery & Recreation (HBR)
  • Engineering (M&T, PIE, and BWI)
  • Economics & Entrepreneurship (E&E)
  • Health Well-being (ZW)

Where will the school be located?

The school will be located in Stadspark Oranje-Nassau. This used to be a mining site. We are now transforming it into an area for living, learning, and recreation. It is located close to the center of Heerlen.

What makes this school special?

The school works closely with the local community. For example, a restaurant is being opened that will also be open to visitors. Students can do internships at local businesses.

When will the school be ready?

  • In December 2024, the city council approved the plans
  • Construction will begin in 2027
  • In the 2029–2030 school year, students will be able to attend the new school
