Organization Municipality of Heerlen
The municipality is run on a day-to-day basis by the Board of Mayor and Aldermen. They implement the policies of the municipal council. The council makes the decisions about those policies and checks that the college is implementing them properly.
The congregation's organization consists of:
- Domain City, which deals with Space & Economy
- Domain Society, which deals with Society & Residents
- Domain Operations, the deals with Organization & Resources
- Administrative Service
The administrative department works in the service of the town clerk on overarching (political) themes from the college. For each domain there is a director. Together with the town clerk, the three directors form the Executive Board.
Each domain consists of several teams, each with its own manager. These managers and the director make up the domain management.
Domain City
Economics
The economy section is responsible for the themes around economy, culture, cultural heritage, education, labor market and sports. They work together with colleagues inside and outside the domain, as well as with partners in the city on the economic development of Heerlen.
Space
This section works on the themes: mobility, urban planning, sustainability, waste, greenery, real estate, public space, sewage and water. Spatial plans such as zoning plans and structural visions are also made here.
Domain Society
Society
In the Society section, work is done on public order and safety, supervision, enforcement and social safety. Within the municipality of Heerlen, we believe that safety has an important social component. That is why colleagues here also work on social themes such as the WMO, youth ( Health ), elderly policy, integration policy, and public health.
Residents
This section includes all tasks where residents of the municipality have direct contact with the municipality. Here we work to provide unambiguous and clear services for the residents of the municipality of Heerlen.
Domain Operations
Domain operations is responsible for supporting the organization.
Resources
The Resources section is responsible for the topics: finance, information management, facility services and IT.
Organization
This section includes the other support functions such as communications, human resources, support and legal affairs.
Administrative Service
The administrative department is responsible for providing strategic advice at the political-administrative level. In addition, they are responsible for program management. Some of the municipality's tasks are so large and complex that they are incorporated into a program. A program manager from the administrative department directs these programs.
