"Overheard" is a participatory installation about intimacy, connection, and the way we perceive other people. For this work, Grace Peters brought together various groups of young people to explore the question, “What makes a connection real to you?”

These conversations form the basis of the installation, along with a sculptural bed where the encounters took place. *Overheard* invites visitors to eavesdrop on the personal conversations of people they don’t know very well. The work explores what happens when we listen attentively to someone. What assumptions do we make in the process, and how much can we really know about another person?
