Rigorous greening in Lindeveld officially launched
Last week has Alderman Marco Peters with a number of residents of the Lindeveld district symbolically removed the first tiles as the starting signal for rigorous greening in the district. We will also green the Eikenderveld and Mariarade-Noord districts considerably. The work in Lindeveld will be completed around January. In 2025 we will tackle the greening in the other two districts.
More space for greenery
Residents of the Lindeveld neighborhood themselves proposed the idea of installing façade gardens in the neighborhood. This initiative fits in with the municipality's plans to make the city considerably greener. The paving that has no function will make way for greenery. This will create more room for biodiversity, reduce heat stress and increase the quality of life in the neighborhood. We are tackling the greening of Lindeveld in a big way. We will create more than 932m2 of new green space and upgrade more than 2200m2 of green space.
Alderman Marco Peters : "Achieving the maximum result in greening can only be done together. Together with residents and other active parties in a neighborhood. You also look across property boundaries together. That works very well in Lindeveld. It is a good start to do the same in Eikenderveld and Mariarade-Noord."
