Old friends, new friends | 30 years of schrit_tmacher just dance!
The 30th schrit_tmacher Festival presents a wide selection of companies from Canada, Great Britain, France, Taiwan, the Czech Republic, Brazil, Japan, the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany. In addition to new discoveries, some audience favorites will be featured; our "old friends. In recent years, our program has also expanded through collaborations with "new friends. The result can be seen in projects with the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln | Aachen, the Stürtz cinema family, the Bischöfliche Akademie, Cinedans, Kool Cult and the SCENAR!O Festival. In new multidisciplinary "festival specials" and in exciting border-crossing community projects, such as with Jordy Dik. And there are more new friends, because in 2025 we are adding new venues to our festival with Theater Aachen and the Toon Hermans Theater in Sittard.
In Heerlen, in co-production with NDT 1, we celebrate the festival opening with new work by Crystal Pite and Simon McBurney. In Aachen, the festival kicks off with the German premiere of "BACH Reimagined" by James Wilton Dance at Theater Aachen. In addition, Aachen will host the world premiere of a specially staged co-production with Fabien Prioville Dance Company for the Fabrik Stahlbau Strang. And in Eupen we will celebrate the 30th edition with a "Triptychon," among other things. After that, for four weeks in the Euroregion you can enjoy highlights and innovative productions from all over the world, an extensive program for youth, workshops, dance films, exhibitions and more.
