Skatepark The Promise renovated
Skatepark The Promise reopened on Friday. The indoor skatepark was closed for three weeks for renovations. The skatepark has been completely refurbished. All damage has been repaired. The entire top layer has been replaced with new birch wood. This makes the track feel like new again.
New elements have also been added. Existing elements have been repainted. The park now looks fresh and new.

"The Promise has been renovated and is ready for the future. It is not just a place to exercise. It is also a meeting place for young people. Here they can express their creativity. This park is an investment in movement, talent, and community," said Alderman Houben.
New elements
New obstacles were created in consultation with users. Two new "Rails" and three new "Ledges" were added. These provide new challenges for beginners and advanced skaters alike. Nine Yards Skateparks created the design, involved users, renovated, and approved the indoor skate park.
Miko Brepols from local skate collective Loose Ankles is one of the users who contributed ideas for the new elements: "The renovation of The Promise offers new possibilities within the park. We look forward to seeing how the community develops and comes together within the park."
The Promise
Skatepark the Promise is unique in the Euregio. Every year, between 10,000 and 15,000 visitors come from the Netherlands, Germany, and Belgium. They come to skateboard, scooter, or BMX.
