Stories from the neighborhood become music

On June 21, the Heerlen city composer will collect stories from the neighborhoods of Grasbroek, Musschemig, Schandelen and Hoppersgraaf.
On Saturday, June 21, City Composer Angela de Weijer is organizing a meeting for neighborhood residents. She will engage in conversation with people to collect stories about their experiences and memories of life in the neighborhoods of Grasbroek, Schandelen, Musschemig and Hoppersgraaf. The stories form the start of sound compositions made especially for these districts. These compositions will be presented in the fall of 2025 and will then be given a permanent place in the district.
Are you a resident (former resident) of these neighborhoods and do you still have a story that should definitely be told, not forgotten or passed on? Then visit Neighborhood Point Schandelen on Composer's Day and share your memory, anecdote or photo. That way, your history will become part of a resounding illustration of the city.
