Cybersecurity firm Route443 expands to Heerlen
Cybersecurity company Route443 chooses to expand in Heerlen at the Brightlands Smart Services Campus. This location is easily accessible for staff and relations, and future talents from multiple educational institutions are present. Services will be expanded at the new location. The company also wants to train new personnel there itself. To provide new jobs and strengthen the campus ecosystem, the company will receive a €50,000 subsidy from the Economic Structure Enhancement Fund (FES).
Route443 is a company that helps organizations protect themselves from digital threats, such as hackers or fake messages (phishing). They use new and smart security methods to do this. Their services include identity security, phishing protection and Unique Access Management (secure access to systems). At the Brightlands Smart Services Campus in Heerlen, Route443 will participate in the Ecosystem; the collaboration between business, education and research. They will do this with an Experience Center and a Cyber Security Academy, strengthening the digital resilience of Heerlen, Limburg and the Netherlands.
Experience Center and Cyber Security Academy
At the Experience Center, companies simulate real situations of cyber attacks. This way they learn how to react quickly and limit damage. This makes companies more aware and better prepared for real threats. The Cyber Security Academy provides training to internal staff as well as to other organizations. People there learn not only what cybersecurity is, but also skills to secure their organization. This allows them to both respond to threats and develop security strategies to prevent threats.
Alderman Martin de Beer:
"The arrival of Route443 in Heerlen is important for our city. Not only because the company will create at least 35 jobs within three years, but also because cybersecurity plays a key role in a secure society just now. With this location on the Brightlands Smart Services Campus, we are strengthening our economic ecosystem and investing in the knowledge, innovation and jobs of the future. We are happy to support that with a contribution from the FES."
