Temporary closure of desks at Civil Affairs

We are switching to a new system and will have to close some civil affairs desks from October 25 to 29. You will not be able to apply for or pick up passports, driver's licenses, statements or extracts. You will also not be able to file birth or death certificates.

We are moving to a new system for the Basic Registration of Persons (BRP) to provide residents with better and faster service. The desks will close at 11 a.m. on October 25. They will reopen on Tuesday, October 29 at 10 a.m. We also cannot process online applications during this period. Colleagues from other departments will also not be able to consult the BRP. You will be able to access these services again starting October 29.

Do you have to file a later return due to the shutdown? This will not affect you. For example, are you having a child on Oct. 25 and cannot meet the 3-day filing deadline? No worries, you will not be fined for this.
