Unilocation Waldorf school Helianthus at Drieschstraat 1 in Heerlen

The unilocation for Waldorf school Helianthus is getting closer. Due to student growth, the teaching space the school moved into in 2015, BMV Molenberg, became too small. Gemeente Heerlen has purchased the building and the accompanying Drieschstraat 1 plot for the realization of the unilocation.

Unilocation Waldorf School Helianthus

The primary education of the Waldorf School in Heerlen has grown over the years and is currently temporarily divided between two locations. Due to the growth in pupil numbers, the teaching space became too small. In the adopted Integral Housing Plan (IHP), we agreed that replacement housing would be provided at one easily accessible location. Because the school has a regional character. This location also has space for child partner housing.

"With the purchase of this property, we can make the unilocation for the Waldorf School Helianthus possible. In this way we strengthen the connection of the Waldorf School and the city,'' said Alderman education Jordy Clemens.

Director Janine Goebbels-Finster is pleased with the development. ''We will soon be in a beautiful location, close to the green with our unilocation. We look forward to coming together in one place again as a team and together with our students.''

Planning

In the coming period we will complete the purchase process and start preparing for the renovation and move. We estimate that the whole process will take about 1.5 years.
