Safer environment Frans Postmaschool

The Frans Postmaschool in Beersdal has concluded this year's step-step challenge. Several traffic calming measures have been installed in the school area, making it a much safer place.

Motorists approaching the school are now alerted with four signs that they are entering a school zone. In addition, three new zebras have been added. With specially shaped and colored street furniture, children are guided to those crossings.

On the occasion of the closing, Alderman Marco Peters of mobility to the school to talk to the children. They were given the opportunity to tell what they have done to make the school environment safer. For example, to have as many children as possible come to school by bike, scooter or on foot. And with success.

Marco Peters : “We are actively committed to making school environments in our city safer. Together with the children of the Frans Postmaschool in Beersdal, we have started working to make the area around their school safer. In addition to traffic calming measures that ensure that road users drive more slowly, we are also committed to encouraging children to go to school more often on foot, by bike or by scooter. In addition to being healthier, this also means that fewer children are brought by car. That also ensures that the school environment becomes safer.”
