Approach
This is how you apply for an environmental permit for advertising:
- Go to the Environment Counter.
- Do the permit check.
- You will see if you need a permit. You can apply for the permit right away.
- Log in with eRecognition.
- Among other things, you pass on:
- drawing or drawn-in photograph of the location of the advertisement
- photo, drawing or description of the advertisement
- dimensions of advertising
- period during which advertising remains visible
Cost

Description
If you want to hang advertising on your premises, you may need an environmental permit. This depends in particular on the conspicuousness of the advertisement, its location and the period in which you want to place it. If you do not need a permit, you do report the advertising to municipality.
Sometimes you have to pay taxes on an advertising object to the municipality. This is precaria duty: the right to have awnings and balconies with advertising above public land, such as the sidewalk.
Terms
You must apply for an environmental permit for advertising if it involves:
- a large billboard
- moving advertisement
- illuminated advertising
- advertising in the center
- long-term advertising
Term
The municipality decides within 8 weeks of receiving your application. The municipality may extend this deadline once.
Objection and appeal
You can object to the decision on your application. Do this within 6 weeks. Do you then disagree with the decision on the objection? Then file an appeal with the court.
