Shopping in Heerlen

Heerlen has something for everyone. All the well-known chain stores in the main streets in the center and around them fun, quirky and local specialty stores. Also don't miss the weekly market or Curiosa market. And did you know that the largest home furnishing boulevard in Europe is also in Heerlen? A 5-minute drive from the center, with Swedish furniture giant and 4 million visitors a year! And next door a car boulevard. All a stone's throw from each other.

Heerlen-Centrum

The lover of shopping is quickly sold in the center of Heerlen with, in addition to the many fashion stores and department stores, cute little boutiques, quirky stores and special markets. There are also two indoor centers; the Loon and Corio Center.

Markets in the center

The large weekly market is on Tuesdays from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the Bongerd and Promenade. With many fruit and vegetable stalls, plants, fish, bread, nuts, sewing fabrics, haberdashery, clothing, undergarments and bags, household items and much more. Cozy!

On Saturday, there will be a medium-sized market, at the same location, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Please bring your own shopping bag, this way you will help reduce litter!

Residential and car boulevard

The Woonboulevard has 120,000 m2 of home improvement stores. There is everything for in and around the house, from DIY stores, kitchen showrooms and bathroom specialty stores to furniture stores and home improvement stores. A major crowd puller includes Ikea, the largest in the Benelux. The Woonboulevard is right by the A76 motorway and has 4,000 free parking spaces. It is also easily accessible by train (Heerlen-Woonboulevard station) on the Heerlen-Maastricht line.

Right behind the Woonboulevard is the Heerlen Autoboulevard. A clustering of car companies of all well-known brands. The latest models, attractive used cars and accessories.

Shopping evenings and shopping Sundays

Every Thursday evening is shopping night until 9 p.m. Stores and supermarkets are allowed to be open Monday through Saturday from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., so some stores have more frequent evening openings. In addition, all stores and supermarkets are allowed to be open every Sunday. The stores decide that for themselves. Only on Good Friday, Remembrance Day on May 4 and Christmas Eve on December 24, all stores are required to close at 7 p.m.
