Car towed away for improper parking

The municipality may tow your car away (or have it towed) if you are parked illegally. Is a car parked inconveniently or dangerously? Then we will also tow your vehicle away. Your car is a nuisance or a danger to the surroundings.

Approach

Want to pick up your towed car? Please report to the police. They will refer you to the towing company van Dongen Berging B.V.
You can pick up your car: 

  • Monday through Friday from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.
  • Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Bring a valid ID. 

Cost

  • If you get to your vehicle before the boa has ordered the tow company to tow it away, you will only receive a police report.
  • If the tow truck is already on its way, but not yet on site, you must pay the call-out fee on site.
  • If your vehicle is already in the tow-away roller, you will get it back immediately if you pay the call-out and tow-away fees on the spot.
  • If you cannot pay cash or debit card on the spot, your vehicle will be towed away.
  • The cost of the official report depends on the offense incurred.
  • If you know what offense it is, you can check the amount of the fine on the CJIB website. This does add CJIB's administrative costs.
  • Van Dongen Berging B.V. in Landgraaf will set the cost of the towing. You must pay the costs to this company. 

Description

Your car we tow away if you:

  • parked in an area where work is
  • You are unauthorized in a disabled parking space
  • parked incorrectly on a public road (for example, in front of an entrance or exit) 
  • is parked in such a way that your car creates a hazard or obstruction to other traffic

Usually the boa (special investigating officer) is the person who gives the order to tow away for municipality .

On private property, the owner is responsible for towing away the illegally parked vehicle. This is not a task of the municipality. 

Objection and appeal

You can object to the towing of your car. Do this within 6 weeks. After that, do you disagree with the ruling on the objection? Then appeal to the court.
