Are you not paying a parking fee where it is required? Or are you paying too little? Then you may receive a parking ticket. You will receive a letter at home.

You may also be fined. For example, you will receive a fine if you park incorrectly. You can object to the parking ticket or fine.

Approach

This is how you pay a parking ticket:

  • You will receive a letter from the BsGW.
  • The letter will tell you how much, how and when to pay.

Cost

The amount is listed on the ticket and depends on the offense. If no amount is filled in, an official report is made. This report goes to the public prosecutor. He makes a decision and you will be notified.

Description

In some areas, you must pay to park. This is called parking tax. You pay this tax at parking meters or via a parking app on your cell phone, for example. Are you not paying? Or do you pay too little? Then you may receive a parking ticket. This is an additional charge for the parking tax you did not pay.

A parking ticket is not the same as a fine. A fine is issued for a violation. For example, if you parked illegally or drove too fast. A fine is issued by the Central Judicial Collection Agency (CJIB).

Objection and appeal

If you disagree with the parking ticket, you can object. You must do this within 6 weeks. Your objection must clearly state why you disagree with the parking ticket. Add supporting documents if necessary.

Wait until you receive the letter from the BsGW. It will tell you how to file an objection. Also include the assessment number.
