Thank you for Friends of Heerlen Schoon
Alderman Marco Peters (Management and Maintenance) has awarded the annual thank you for the Friends of Heerlen Schoon to a number of volunteers of this initiative. In Heerlerheide they go out a few times a month to clean up litter. All other volunteers in the city also received the present for their efforts in the past year.
Token of gratitude
“A clean city is a better place to live, work and enjoy life. About 500 friends of Heerlen Schoon contribute to this every year. Involved people make Heerlen better and I really appreciate that effort. This gift is a small token of gratitude for the past year,” explains Marco Peters come on.
Alone or in a team
Friends and heroes of Heerlen Schoon clean up a street or neighbourhood by picking up litter, either alone or in a team. Heroes of Heerlen Schoon are children between the ages of 4 and 12. They receive a Map and can earn stickers with their efforts. Is the Map full, then they can hand them in to entrepreneurs in the city. Friends of Heerlen Schoon are all older than 12 years. Both groups choose how often they clean or whether it is a one-off action. The municipality of Heerlen ensures that the volunteers receive the right materials to do their work.
