Approach

This is how you indicate that you want to buy a business plot:

  • You send an e-mail to gemeente@heerlen.nl You indicate which lot you are interested in. The Entrepreneur House will contact you within 4 weeks.
  • The municipality will talk to you
  • You then submit in writing:
    • what you want to use the land for
    • And how you will meet the criteria (business plan)
  • The municipality tests whether you can buy the land.
  • If we want to sell the land to you, we will publish this intention in the Municipal Gazette.
  • We include an anti-speculation clause in the purchase agreement.

Description

Requirements

Requirements for buying a business plot include:

  • You comply with the environmental plan or you have received a positive decision in principle and you comply with municipal policies, such as the land price policy.

The municipality weighs the following criteria for proceeding with a sale:

  • How much employment will the proposed business activity create?
  • How sustainably do you furnish the lot and structures?
  • Does the end user improve the economic structure?
  • Do you agree to negotiate an anti-speculation clause with the municipality?

Objection and appeal

Anyone who disagrees with the sale can appeal to the civil court within 20 days of publication with the intention to sell the business lot. The agreement can be signed if no one appeals within 20 days. Otherwise, we will wait for the judge's verdict first.
