Using sound truck
Do you want to use a sound truck for music or advertising messages? Then you must apply for an environmental permit to do so.
Approach
This is how you apply for a permit to use a sound truck in public:
- Go to the Environment Counter.
- Do the permit check.
- You will see if you need a permit/exemption. You can apply for the permit/exemption right away.
- Log in:
- for yourself: with DigiD
- For a company: with eRecognition
- In any case, you pass on:
- why you need a sound truck
- when and at what time you will drive the sound truck
- How loud the music or commercials are
- which route you want to take
Cost
Reporting an event or applying for an event permit is free of charge.
Description
It is illegal to use a sound truck to play music or advertising messages in public. If you still want to do this, you must apply for an environmental permit.
You also need permission from municipality if you are only using a speaker.
Term
The municipality decides within 8 weeks of receiving your application. The municipality may extend this deadline once.
Objection and appeal
You can object to the decision on your application. Do this within 6 weeks. Do you then disagree with the decision on the objection? Then file an appeal with the court.
