Using a sound truck

To use a sound truck, you must have permission from the municipality.

Approach

This is how you request permission to use a sound truck in public:

Please contact the municipality.
In any case, you pass on:
- why you need a sound truck
- when and at what time you will drive the sound truck
- how loud the music or advertising is
- which route you want to drive

Reporting an event or applying for an event permit is free of charge.

Description

Do you want to use a sound truck for music or advertising in public? If so, you must request permission from the municipality.

You also need permission from the municipality if you use only a loudspeaker.

Term

The municipality will make a decision on your application within 8 weeks. If that is not possible, the municipality may extend this period once by 6 weeks.

Objections and appeals

Do you disagree with the municipality’s decision? If so, you can file an objection. This allows you to explain why you disagree. Other people who are directly affected by the decision may also file an objection. You must file your objection within 6 weeks. The municipality will then issue a new decision.

Do you disagree with the new decision? Then you can ask the court whether the municipality has made the right decision. This is called 'appealing'. You must do this within six weeks. You can only appeal if you have lodged an objection.
