Standing as a candidate for elections to the House of Representatives

Do you want to run as a candidate in the elections for the House of Representatives? Then you must be on the candidate list of a political party. Your party submits the list to the Electoral Council. This was possible on September 15.

Note

You can no longer stand for election to the House of Representatives on Oct. 29, 2025.

Cost

Candidacy is free. However, if your party does not yet have a seat in the House of Representatives, your party must pay a deposit for the party's candidacy. This deposit is €11,250. The deposit had to be paid no later than Monday, September 1, 2025.

The government refunds the deposit if your party obtains at least 75% of the electoral divide. The electoral quota is the number of valid votes needed for 1 seat. You will also get the deposit back if your party did not submit a valid list of candidates.
