Ready to go with rigorous greening in Lindeveld

Last week in Lindeveld, the final plans were presented for rigorous greening. This approach in the neighborhood is a direct result of the neighborhood's own initiative to get started with façade gardens and the municipality's intention to bring much more greenery to the city. Work will start this month and is likely to be completed by the end of January.

Green for gray

The greening plans will be implemented together with residents and housing associations. All paving that has no function will be replaced with greenery and shrubs and trees will be added. The current planting will also be upgraded. This will create more room for biodiversity and bring insects and birds back into the neighborhood. In Lindeveld more than 923 m2 of new green space is involved, more than 2200 m2 of green space will be upgraded and more than 24 new trees and shrubs will be planted.

Alderman Marco Peters: "Finally it's going to start! The rigorous greening will give the neighborhood a metamorphosis and make it even more beautiful and pleasant to live in. This also ties in seamlessly with the neighborhood's great façade garden initiative. The strength lies in the fact that the plans came about together with the residents. And that parties like APG and Burgstate (Obvion) also participate. This was again evident from the great interest during last week's meeting. This is how we achieve maximum results together with the neighborhood. This is also how we will get to work in Eikenderveld and Mariarade-North!"
