Organizing small game of chance

In a small game of chance, participants can win prizes. These prizes remain below a certain amount. You report a small game of chance to the municipality.

Approach

This is how you report a small gaming activity:

  • You report the meeting to the municipality. Do this at least 2 weeks in advance.
  • In your report you state:
    • what kind of game of chance it is
    • what you will do with the proceeds
    • how many participants you expect
    • how high the prize money is
    • what the monetary value per prize is
    • the date, time and place of the activity

If your association or foundation is organizing a game of chance for the first time, attach the bylaws to your notification.

Cost

Rate 2024:

€ 19.60 for making the notification
Note: If you do not enter the organization's Chamber of Commerce number on the form, we will charge the cost to the applicant personally.

Requirements

The Requirements To organize a small game of chance include:

  • An association organizes the game of chance.
  • This association has been in existence for at least 3 years.
  • The purpose of this association is not to organize gaming activities.
  • During the game of chance, the maximum prize package is €400 per round and €1,550 per event.
  • At most 1 game of chance takes place at the same time at 1 address.

Are you not following the rules? Then the municipality can ban the meeting or shut down a game.
