Description

When there is danger in your neighborhood, you are alerted by the police or fire department. For example, they drive around in sound trucks and call out what danger is imminent. The police and fire department may ring your doorbell. You will hear from them what is going on and what you should do.

You can also get a notification on your cell phone from NL-Alert. The government sends out a control message twice a year .

In greater danger, you will hear the sirens of the air alarm and receive notification from NL-Alert on your cell phone. Enter the nearest building or allow others to enter with you. Close doors and windows. Turn on the radio or TV. Look in the notification you received from NL-Alert and on Crisis.nl. That way you will know what is going on and what to do. Wait for that. Stay inside!

Every first Monday of the month at noon the air alarm is tested across the country. You don't have to do anything then.

At ThinkForward.com you will find a list of items you should have in your home in the event of a disaster.

Turn on L1 radio and L1 teletext page 112 for official government announcements and await further instructions.
