Voting in other municipality for elections

You need a voter's card if you want to vote in a different municipality than where you are registered. You apply for the voter card at the municipality where you are registered.

This is how you apply for a voter ID card in writing:

  • Complete the online voter ID form.
  • Send the form to the municipality.
  • The application must be with the municipality by Friday, Oct. 24, 2025.
  • Have you already received a voting card? Then send the voting card along with it.

You can also stop by the municipality:

  • Come to the council no later than noon on Tuesday, October 28, 2025.
  • You bring:
    • your voting card (if you have already received one)
    • your proof of identity

Do you live permanently abroad but are in the Netherlands on election day?
